PLA Trooper by NDTwoFives PLA Trooper by NDTwoFives
Although that i don't really support communism, I just felt like drawing troops from my country of origin...Don't start posting politically related comments please...

A soldier of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in full combat gear, armed with the standard issued Norinco QBZ-95/Type 95 5.8x42mm Assault Rifle and a QSZ-92 5.8x21mm handgun in his holster. He's wearing the recently issued Type 07 digital camouflage in its universal pattern.

Since detailed references pictures about the PLA are either rare or outdated on the web, some details might not be 100% accurate.

Comments and faves are welcome like usual. :)

The PLA, compared to any modern Allied nation, mainly the United States Army and Marine Corps, or the British Army or even the German Military, the Chinese military is severely outdated, due to the fact that their Navy is small and not as effective as the US or British Navy, even the Australian Navy. Their troops are trained hard, but, technologically, they are under-armed for modern warfare, especially when it calls for heavily armored vehicles, high-tech weapons, and strong airpower.

They are deadly, to a certain extent. They can only do so much with the tech they do now.

Hopefully, war does not break out between us and them. This world does not need another world war. This world does not need millions or even billions dead. Humanity can only take so much more of war, even though, technically, war is endless and will never disappear, no matter what we do or hope for. Sadly, it's true, despite my wishes for peace.

Now that i look back on this photo and the many hours i spend now playing Operation Flash Point Dragon Rising and making custom missions. and the hours of trying to defeat the PLA troops who would out flank my Marines. with this inspiration i can now draw something... with the memory and references

Hmm, it's not really a good ref to use considering how the vest is partially hidden by the QBZ-95 rifle. :XD:

I didn't know that you had a chinese background.

Pose looks good, but the angle of the QBZ is a little strange. Nice work all in all :)

Well, now you know it :P
It's my first time practicing with a crouching stance and also first time drawing a bullpup weapon seen from the side, there might be imperfections but I'll get over it :)

Very cool. PLA's an interesting forcec because they have a mix of modern stuff that rivals some American and Russian stuff, but on the other hand they are terribly outdated in other areas. Gun feels a bit off for some reason, but I guess the QSZ-95 doesn't look normal, so that's probably he reason :P

Yeah, they still have some old stuff in their armories :P
You're talking about the pistol right? You're talking about the holstered QSZ-92 right? Yeah, seems that I've messed up the perspective a bit... x_x

Woops, meant QBZ-95 :XD:

I don't know any of this Chinese equipment by name, save the Type 88's from Battlefield and the J-10 ^^;

Type 88 LMG I guess? :P Well, this is my first try at drawing the QBZ, never drawn any other bullpup weapon before, the only weapons I seem to draw the best are the AR-15 family :/

They also have the Type 88 police marksman rifle as well... But yeah, AR-15's are easier to draw for some reason. Those and the late 1800's rifles (Lee Enfield, Kar 98 K etc) at least for me personally.

QBU-88 is a DMR, just like the Dragunov, it's not entirely a dedicated sniper rifle. :P
Yeah, bolt action rifles seem to keep the same shapes, which makes them easier. But the carbine stocks on AR-15s are a pain in the ass to draw for the beginners x-x
